Letter #13 — Memorial Day Thank You
“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” – John 15:13
05.28.12
Today is Memorial Day, so I am changing my original plan for today’s letter. Instead, I want to thank those who have sacrificed to give me freedom. Some sacrifice their time and energy, others have given the ultimate gift… their lives. From the colonists on April 19th, 1775 to the soldiers who serve their country today, we must not forget. “Posterity, you will never know how much it cost the present generation to preserve your freedom. I hope you will make good use of it. If you do not, I shall repent in heaven that I ever took half the pains to preserve it.” – John Adams We must not forget and we must make good use of what these men and women have fought for. With Gratitude, One Who Remembers
